Another purchase or two

I truly wasn't going to buy anything else this month, I had purchased most of my gardening requirements last week apart from the potato day in a couple of weeks of course. I was perusing my emails when I come across one from The Book People. It was advertising a flash sale, I really didn't think they would have anything as I had ordered what I wanted before Christmas. However I came across these lovely items which will be winging themselves over to me shortly.

Self-Sufficiency Collection - 12 Books - collection - 9781780092232 - Various Authors
Self-Sufficiency Collection  I nearly swallowed my tongue with delight, 12 books for a fiver. I had debated on buying these before Christmas but never got round to it. They had been advertised at the top of Sues blog  which is where I spotted them.

The Ten Minute Gardener Diaries Collection - 3 Books - collection - 9780563493891 - Ross Burden
The Ten Minute Gardener Diaries Collection  for £4 So for the grand total of £9 (+ a couple of £'s p&p) I have 15 books on the way

The flash sale ends at midnight on Thursday, there is free delivery on orders of £25 & above , I was very, very restrained.

Enjoy your day

    1. I must admit I have had my eye on them for a while now. I quite fancy myself as a cheese maker, & they are as cheap as a magazine.

  2. You've just cost me a broken New Years resolution AND £28.98 ... but as you saved me over £268 I'm not really grumbling.

Yes, I did go over the £25 for the free postage, well it would have been rude not too, when I was soooo close, and another book I had my eye on was available so cheaply. :-)

    1. You made me giggle, I was very, very restrained. I could have quite easily reached £25 but after spending so much this month I had to put a stop somewhere.

  4. I keep looking at those books at the top of Sue's blog but so far have resisted. I think now I will wait to hear what you think about them and then maybe consider purchasing them if an good offer for them ever comes along again. I think I need to build a library at the side of my house for all my books!!

    1. I tell myself the same thing. I have cut down dramatically on gardening magazines, they do however creep back in during the spring.

  12. I've got the gardening diary books and they're great for dipping in and out of. I'd put the fruit one to one side as I haven't grown very much fruit in the past but on my last post about all the fruit I'd inherited on my new plot, Flighty left me a comment mentioning that this book would be good to read. I've picked it up now and I'm reading through it, there's lots of great advice for looking after everything. The self sufficiency books look interesting, I shall look forward to hearing what you think about them.
