The Hound!

Rocky dog who enjoys two walks a day, behaved himself extremely well at his first visit to the vets, who has suffered a change to a higher quality dog food, who would like to eat one of the cats he spies on his walks, who would also like to nibble on one of the squirrels that scamper past him & whose being here has eaten considerably into my craft budget.

Harry used to be terrified of dogs, a neighbour helped him get over his fear by tying his dog up outside to the front garden gate. Gradually over a period of weeks Harry edged up to the dog & they became the greatest of friends. Ever since then Harry has wanted a dog of his very own & to be honest if it wasn't for the death of my father in law he would still be waiting.

Rocky dog has settled in extremely well over the past few weeks & certainly seems here to stay, I have even bought him his own Christmas stocking!

See that shockingly bad bottom photo, I was trying to take a shot of where we are extending the cut flower bed. The compost bin is being moved & the concrete to the left is being chipped out. Every time I knelt down to take a shot the hound came scampering over! Enjoy your day xx

  1. Oh those ears, he's absolutely adorable. Eating into your craft budget though, that's quite serious. I used to go out with a boy whose mum made a jumper out of the wool from their old English sheepdog. Maybe you need a woollier dog. CJ xx

  2. Awww, he's fallen on his feet finding a home with you, especially if you're prepared to forego your craft budget for him. It looks like Harry's pleased too. It's amazing how quickly a dog steals your heart.

  11. How lovely for Harry and Rocky. As you know, Ted and Pops are central to our family. L has an incredibly close bond with them both and especially Teddy. If he's ever upset it's Ted he'll tell all about it and Ted who can reach him and make him feel better. Rocky and Harry will be great for each other. Well done you x

  12. Lucky Harry! What a great shot of the two of them :) Your neighbour was so kind to encourage Harry to warm up to his dog. Now Harry and Rocky can be best friends. Wendy x

  14. There's something about a boy and his dog, they just go together. My son always wanted a dog but I had to abide by the rules of living on a 'dog-free' estate. Now that he's grown up, a few of my neighbours have broken the rules and acquired dogs. I wish I'd been brave enough to do that years ago. Your boy and his dog are very lucky to have each other!

  17. What a lucky dog, ending up with you as his home and family. I enjoyed watching my two play with my in-law's Jack Russell over half term - there is something really special about the relationship between children and dogs. x
