A view from the kitchen window

You all know by now just how bad my photography skills are, I was on my way to grab another chocolate biscuit from the barrel & as I glanced out of the window I thought  'oh that looks nice'

Believe me my dears this was the best shot! In real life the sky doesn't look quite so murky & there are blossoms on the trees. It really did look quite pretty.

As I was cramming said chocolate biscuit in my mouth ok, ok there was more than one - I glanced at the real view -
This is quite possibly the neatest view of the kitchen, I have told Mr Mike Pike that enough is enough, I have been with out a proper kitchen for a couple of years now with him ripping things out & adding things. I've told him that I will be adding photos to his facebook account on the lack of progress. The units are still in boxes for crying out loud!!!

Anyway my dears, it seems to of worked. He has booked two weeks off work beginning the 15th May, a skip has been ordered, the kitchen ceiling is coming down, Mike & his brother are putting a new one back up. I have ordered tiles for the kitchen floor & the plasterer has been booked. Hope to be back to normal by June (of this year).

My original photo for my first post of the week -
A flyer from the local garden centre, Afternoon tea buy one get one free ( I might give one to Mike depending on his behaviour or I will eat both myself), free pack of bedding plants with a spend of £5 or more (I can manage that) & 20% off in the craft shop. Hello next day off together :)

We are off to Chirk Castle next Sunday as we have rejoined the National Trust after a couple of years break. I've also told the boy he is coming with us. I can't explain just how thrilled he is! I'm going to buy myself a nice plant or five from there.

P.s I'm having a give away shortly when my sneaky delivery arrives - very exciting - open to all - no excuses not to enter - I promise not to make anything but there will be a few surprises for the winner depending who you are! What, you want to know the main prize?, no couldn't possibly tell you, no you can't get it out of me. Oh go on then, I needed a new Emma Bridgewater mug for my collection & they were on offer. So I have order a Jack Russell Terrier one for me &  red Squirrel one for one of you lucky lot. Still waiting for the blinking things to come.

Enjoy your day all x

  5. I often take pictures from my utility room window and they never come out as I'd like. I'm a pint and press kind of girl, although I sometimes use the function on my camera that will focus on one part and leave everything else fuzzy. I have a posh camera, but have never read the manual. Lazy, lazy, lazy. Hope you enjoyed the biccies.

  7. What a lovely view. All I can see from my kitchen window are jobs waiting to be done. I really feel for you re the kitchen situation, I know how bad it was when we had ours extended, I couldn't wait for everything to be back in its place so I'm glad the holiday is in place, you might just get your kitchen back to how you want it this summer.

  9. You have a marvelous view out your kitchen window! I did have to enlarge it to see the blossoms. What I wouldn't give to have a view of fields (or a forest would be better) right there behind me. All I have is the view of my neighbour's house :( We don't have any buds on our trees yet ... still waiting! Wendy

  11. Good luck with the kitchen! When we gutted and redid ours my husband thought he would take a couple of days off work and it would be done. Three weeks later it was 95% done and 20 years later I'm still waiting for the other 5% to be finished!!!!

  12. Looking forward to seeing your completed kitchen!
I woke up about 5am about a week ago and saw that the moon looked incredibly beautiful through my bedroom window, I took a picture but when I got them back up on the camera they really were rubbish! I deleted them!!

  16. A new kitchen, how exciting, lucky you, especially having such a useful man about the place. If it was me I'd eat both cream teas myself, but given that a new kitchen is on the horizon he maybe deserves half a scone and a splash of Earl Grey. I like to take my biggest boy on all our outings. He's eleven now, and starting to resist a little. CJ xx

  25. Nobody stops at just one chocolate biscuit Jo! No one! Glad your 'encouraging words' have spurred Mike into action! My husband says I nag but I explain to him often that the reason we nag is because we're ignored the first 10 times we mention it so in the end it becomes a nag! X

  31. Facebook does have its uses sometimes, like naming and shaming :-) I do threaten my two teens with putting photos of their rooms on there, so I can understand your hubby deciding to take some time off to do this. Your view is amazing from your kitchen window, I wish I had one like that! Take care xx
